How to initiate a climate strategy and achieve climate neutrality

Gruppo Sella, for whom we have been producing a disclosure version of the DNF for several years, engaged us to develop a carbon neutrality strategy, confirming the virtuous positioning of the banking group. One of the critical issues was to include in the scope of analysis many offices and branches in Italy and abroad, with owned and rented buildings. The project made it possible to enrich the sustainability disclosure that the group discloses through nonfinancial reporting.

The approach

The climate strategy followed several steps, structured as follows:
1. Assessment and definition of organization's carbon footprint with 2019 baseline;
2. Drafting of a Mitigation Plan with different emission reduction scenarios;
3. Ongoing consulting to support the evaluation of mitigation actions;
4. Provision of a three-year offsetting program, with achievement of carbon neutrality from the first year.
